Mixed Doubles Provincials 2017

Once again, the CN Curling Club is proud to partner with CURLSASK in hosting the 2017 Provincial Mixed Doubles from February 16-19 2017.

This is the CNCC’s second time hosting this relatively new event and we are proud to be hosting the largest field of competitors to date.

Mixed Doubles Curling is new to North America and will be introduced as a new event at the PYEONGCHANG 2018 Winter Olympics.

A few of the differences from traditional curling is that teams consist of two players (in Mixed it’s one female and one male). At the start of each end there are two stationary stones placed before any rocks are thrown – one per team. One rock is placed on the back four foot while the other is placed as a centre guard at one of three predetermined positions on the ice. Five rocks are thrown per team and all sweeping is up to both the thrower and the skip. A full description of rules can be found on Curling Canada’s website HERE

The World Curling Tour has also created this VIDEO to help to explain the game play.

Tickets are available at the CN Curling Club at the door.
